The SonicWall TZ series of firewalls is designed specifically for the needs of SMBs and branch locations, delivering enterprise-class security without the enterprise-grade complexity.
With Zero-Touch Deployment and simplified centralized management, installation and operation is easy. Detect sophisticated threats, including encrypted attacks, with advanced networking and security features, like the multi-engine Capture Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) cloud-based sandbox service with patent-pending Real-Time Deep Memory Inspection (RTDMI™). With optional features like PoE/PoE+ support and 802.11ac Wi-Fi, create a unified security solution for wired and wireless networks.
Entry Level – SonicWall TZ270
- Throughput of up to 2Gbps with IPS Throughput at 1Gbp
- Threat Prevention and VPN throughput at 750Mbps
- This provides the baseline for most businesses albeit with potential limitations around full bandwidth capability (1Gbps) if full threat protection is in place.
- This option also comes with on-board Wi-Fi capabilities removing the need for a dedicated Access Point/Wi-Fi if the requirement is for a smaller office.
Mid-Level – SonicWall TZ370 and SonicWall TZ470
- Similar protection levels to the TZ270 albeit both models come with elevated bandwidth throughput with full protection levels in place
- TZ370 at 1Gbps
- TZ470 at 1.5Gbps
- Similar to the 270 variant, these also come with on-board Wifi capabilities if needed.
High Level – SonicWall TZ570 and SonicWall TZ670
- Highest of the SonicWall TZ range for SMBs before progressing to the Enterprise level firewall offerings.
- Providing up to 2Gbps Threat prevention throughput (TZ570) and 2.5Gbps (TZ670).
- The 570 range comes with Wifi capability and also PoE support if required
- The TZ670 does not come with these options instead focuses on bandwidth throughput capability.
Next-Generation NSA Firewalls (NGFW)
The SonicWall Network Security appliance (NSa) Mid-Range Firewall is next-generation security designed specifically for businesses of 250 users and up. With cloud-based and on-box capabilities like TLS/SSL decryption and inspection, application intelligence and control, secure SD-WAN, real-time visualization, and WLAN management, SonicWall provides flexible, fast and cost-effective security to keep the threats out and your business thriving.
SonicWall Entry-level Enterprise Range – SonicWall NSA2700 and SonicWall NSA3700
- The starting model for an enterprise level firewall, providing suitable throughput and threat protection capabilities up to 5.2Gbps. Threat protection initiated will cater up to 3Gbps throughput.
- The NSA 3700 builds on the throughput from the NSA 2700 with 3.5Gbps capabilities with full threat prevention throughput in place.
High-level Enterprise Range – SonicWall NSA470
- The leap to the NSA 4700 provides a significant leap up in performance.
- From 3.5Gbps seen in the NSA3700 to 9.5Gbps in the 4700
- Similar came be found in the further two versions, NSA 5700 and NSA 6700.
High Level – SonicWall TZ570 and SonicWall TZ670
- Highest of the SonicWall TZ range for SMBs before progressing to the Enterprise level firewall offerings.

SonicWall Virtual Firewalls – NSv Series
The SonicWall NSv Series virtual firewall offers you all the security advantages of a physical firewall with the operational and economic benefits of virtualization, including system scalability and agility, speed of system provisioning, simple management and cost reduction.
NSv delivers full-featured security tools to shield all critical components of your private/public cloud environments from resource misuse attacks, cross-virtual-machine attacks, side-channel attacks and common network-based exploits and threats. With infrastructure support for reliable distributed clustering and scaling, the SonicWall NSv Series ensures system resiliency, operational uptime, service delivery and availability, and conformance to regulatory requirements.
Only three models are present on the NSv range from the baseline NSv270 to the NSv 870, all appliances cater for SonicOSX 7.0 with supported hypervisors of VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V and KVM with cloud platform capabilities in AWS and Azure – all options comes with a Bring your own License or Pay as you Go pricing model. The main differences between the two are related to Single Sign on Users, throughput capabilities and connections.
SonicWall NSv270
NSv270 supports up to 500 users with 1.6Gbps threat prevention throughput and 13,760 connections per second
SonicWall NSv870
NSv 870 supporting up to 15,000 users with 8Gbpsthreat prevention throughput and 75,640 connections per second.
SonicWall NSv470
NSv470 up to 10,000 users with 2.9Gbps threat prevention and 37,270 connections per second
