History of Vissensa

2023-2024

After recording a record year in terms of service expansion, profitability, revenue, and client acquisition, Vissensa accelerated its expansion with new employees in sales, marketing, consulting, and support engineering to support emerging technologies such as AI and Small Language Model use.
Business transformation, automation, and advanced security solutions remained popular services, as well as our latest thinking on how to optimize SaaS models, including edge computing with legacy environments, while keeping control of public cloud service costs.

2022-2023

Vissensa expanded its client base, including another southern hemisphere client looking for European managed services.
We extended our services to support warehousing and logistics operations and developed a service offering around business intelligence and Power BI.
Our not-for-profit sector clients increased to benefit from our partnership approach, and we added defence and healthcare to the sectors that our clients operate within.
Vissensa was recognised as a company “ahead of the curve” in our industry in addressing climate concerns.

2021-2022

Vissensa launched its comprehensive cyber security consulting and monitoring service, developed over the lockdown, which included the Cyber Essentials accreditation mark and the deployment of advanced device management software to protect the new working-from-home era.
We also entered the not-for-profit sector with a support proposition that addressed the challenges that charities faced post-COVID, as well as the shipping and transport sectors that were bouncing back from the lockdowns.

2020-2021

Powering forward, we opened two datacentre footprints, Singapore and Washington DC, supporting more international clients and bringing our total datacentre operations to six.
During COVID, we developed our YouTube channel and authored a number of free guides and resources to stay connected with local businesses also navigating the pandemic and its consequences, making them available to support companies through and post-pandemic.
Vissensa was shortlisted in the CRN channel awards for both Managed and Cloud services.

2019-2021

Faced with a worldwide pandemic felling businesses several times the size of Vissensa, a determined team that was preserved though the hard times, got to work developing new systems internally and products that would represent the post-covid landscape, using our expertise in desktop users support to help a number of businesses adapt to a new way of working remotely.
At the end of this challenging time, Vissensa was recognised as one of the top Managed Service Providers in the world by Channel Futures.

2018-2019

Vissensa launched its local IT services and support products, which included services focused on the migration to Microsoft 365 utilizing the Microsoft Modern workplace.
Vissensa invested in innovative technologies for its own Cloud platform and expanded its connectivity beyond our current datacentre footprints.
The Vissensa brand was refreshed in the latter part of 2019, representing the futuristic and forward-thinking culture of the company, ready to support the exciting projects coming in 2020.
Little did we know...

2017-2018

Vissensa was nominated as a finalist in the Datacentre Dynamics Datacentre awards for its sustained and reliable private cloud service model.
Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform was added to Vissensa’s private and dedicated cloud service offerings, providing a fully integrated hybrid private/public cloud option recognised as a significant differentiator to Cloud First and Colocation-only propositions.
Vissensa successfully migrated one of the world’s largest financial trading companies from Rio de Janeiro to London and entered two new market sectors: aviation and media.

2016-2017

A busy year led to ambitious growth, starting with Vissensa relocating its Headquarters to Castle Malwood, deep in the heart of the New Forest National Park near Southampton.
With new surroundings and an enhanced team, Vissensa was ready to increase its service portfolio, expanding our consulting services and IT support desk facilities to accommodate a new sector focus addressing the need for enterprise-class IT solutions delivered to local SMEs at the right price point.

2015-2016

After further expansion, and with over 50 national and international clients through a mix of Vissensa’s own cloud platform and dedicated equipment solutions, the company expanded into its fourth datacentre footprint.
Vissensa embarked on a project to develop a Linux-based mainframe to correspond with the push towards open-source, Linux platforms, and containers using IBM Z mainframe technology.
Vissensa launched an apprenticeship program to bring young talent into the world of Managed Services.

2013-2015

Vissensa’s platform in London expanded to support client operations in New York. Vissensa became the first commercial anchor customer of Datum Datacentres' flagship Cody Park datacentre in Farnborough, providing geo-diversity of our cloud platform.
One of Australia’s largest commercial banks selected Vissensa to manage their operations in London, proudly adding the first southern hemisphere client to our growing international portfolio. They are still a client today.

2011-2013

Vissensa’s Managed Services extended to hybrid models to support and manage customer on-premises systems.
The company provisioned its first set of international communications connections for customers using our datacentre footprints.
Vissensa was successful in winning several infrastructure implementation projects in the Higher Education space, including Birmingham Metropolitan College

2009-2011

Sun Microsystems recognised the company as a top UK technology deployment partner for Thin Client solutions, provisioning the technology into the education sector.
Vissensa won several datacentre managed service contracts, including its first migration from an on-premise client environment to our cloud solution and its first international FinTech client.
Equinix LD5 was added to our datacentre footprint.

2009-2010

The company aligned its end computing model to Microsoft’s desktop product range and also invested in Sun Microsystems “Thin Client” technology to address the growing demand for simple desktop computing services that can be easily deployed and supported.
In tandem, Vissensa’s UK-based Help Desk opened to cater to an expanding support services business that was attracting clients in the finance, distribution, and education sectors.

2008-2009

Vissensa was formed from an idea in a pub, with a name derived from two Latin words that would generate a worldwide reputation for our forward-thinking approach to IT services.
Started in April 2008, Vissensa took a bold financial step and secured space at Equinix’s LD4 datacentre to attract clients requiring only part rack deployments, creating Vissensa’s Cloud service while public cloud deployment was not mainstream.
Everyone in the team was broke at this point!
